Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know before selling gold, sovereigns, silverware, watches or diamonds.

The process at a glance

How does selling gold in Nea Ionia work?

Bring your items to our shop at Eleftheriou Venizelou 17. Weighing and appraisal happen in front of you, we explain the calculation based on the live gold price, and if you agree you are paid immediately.

Does the appraisal cost anything?

No. Appraisal is always free and carries no obligation to sell — whether it happens at the shop or online with photos.

What do I need in order to sell gold?

Only your police ID card or passport. Greek law requires it for every precious-metals transaction.

How do I know I'm getting a fair price for my gold?

Our prices are tied to the live international gold price shown on this site, and the calculation (karat × weight × price) happens in front of you. You are free to compare offers — we are confident in ours.

Do you buy broken or old jewelry?

Yes. The value of the gold is never lost — broken, outdated or incomplete jewelry is bought normally based on karat and weight.

Is the online appraisal binding?

No, it is indicative. The final offer is made in person, so weight and purity can be checked precisely — always in front of you.

One key question for every item

How much do you pay for a gold sovereign today?

Our offer is based on the live gold price at the moment of the transaction. See the indicative value on our site and call us for an exact quote — the price that applies is always the one at the moment you visit the shop.

Do you pay the gold value or the jewelry value?

Plain jewelry is bought based on its gold value (karat × weight × spot price). Designer or collectible pieces are appraised separately and often higher.

Do you buy coins other than sovereigns?

Yes — gold coins from every country and era, from common bullion coins to rare collectibles.

Do you pay the silver value or the object's value?

Ordinary silverware is bought based on weight, purity grade and the silver price. Handmade or branded pieces are appraised separately as objects.

What determines the price of my watch?

Brand, model/reference number, condition, function and the completeness of the set (box, papers). We explain the appraisal in detail.

Will I be paid for the stones or only for the gold?

For both. Diamonds and precious stones are appraised separately and added to the offer for the metal.
