We Buy Silverware & Silver Tableware
We buy silverware of every kind: cutlery sets, trays, decanters, candlesticks, cases, silver coins and silver jewelry. Most homes hold silver that never gets used — and it has real value.

The silverware appraisal criteria
- 1
Purity grade
The hallmark (e.g. 925 sterling, 800) determines the fine silver content.
- 2
Weight
Weighed on a precision scale — sets are weighed piece by piece.
- 3
Spot silver price
The live international price at the moment of the transaction.
- 4
Craftsmanship & collectible value
Antique, handmade or branded pieces are valued above their metal content.
The value is calculated from the purity grade (hallmarks 800, 830, 900, 925, etc.), the weight and the live silver price. Weighing and testing happen in front of you, just as with gold.
Handmade, branded or antique silverware with craftsmanship value is appraised separately — it may be worth more as an object than as metal.

Frequently asked questions
Do you pay the silver value or the object's value?
Ordinary silverware is bought based on weight, purity grade and the silver price. Handmade or branded pieces are appraised separately as objects.
How can I tell if something is silver?
From the purity hallmark (e.g. 925, 800). If there is none, or you are not sure, we test it for free at the shop.
Is it worth selling silver-plated items?
Silver-plated pieces (Sheffield plate, EPNS) contain minimal silver and are usually not bought as metal — we tell you so plainly at the appraisal.
Should I polish my silverware before bringing it in?
No, there is no need — tarnish does not affect the metal value.
